Small groups are held several times throughout the school year. These groups are often referred to as "lunch bunch" and meet once a week for approx. 6 to 8 sessions. Working in small groups is an excellent way for students to learn new skills, develop self-awareness, practice new behaviors, and work on personal goals.
During this time, students work on getting along with others, coping with strong feelings, self-esteem, and solving conflicts. These skills are taught through a variety of mediums including stories, role plays, games, and discussions. |
There are times when a student may need some additional support during the school year. The goal of individual school counseling is to provide the student with support and guidance to help them become and remain academically successful.
Individual school counseling does not take the place of professional counseling. If you are interested in obtaining long term counseling for your child, please contact Mrs. Mathin for more information! |
